What this site is

whatsthebestcalorietracker.app is a hands-on editorial review desk for calorie tracker apps. Content is editorial, intended for general consumer-tech-review purposes. The site does not provide medical, dietary, or clinical advice; consult a qualified clinician for goal-bound nutrition decisions involving health conditions.

Content accuracy

Every accuracy claim on this site is sourced through a documented test protocol (see /methodology/) and cross-referenced against the DAI 2026 Six-App Validation Study. Despite this, calorie tracker apps update frequently and any specific accuracy number is a snapshot at the time of test. We re-test on a fixed cadence (April / October) plus ad-hoc on major app updates; see /changelog/ for re-test history. Numbers older than the most recent re-test may be outdated.

Reproducibility

Our methodology is documented at the level needed for independent reproduction. A reader with the same equipment and the same reference meals should reproduce our MAPE numbers within ±2% (the cross-publication noise floor). We flag any internal-vs.-DAI divergence beyond ±2%. We make no guarantee that a specific reader will reproduce specific numbers; only that the methodology is reproducible in principle.

No warranty

Content is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that any specific app will produce a specific accuracy band for any specific user; lab MAPE and field MAPE describe an average, not a guarantee for any individual meal log. Pick a tracker based on the published data and your own goals; verify against your own tracking results.

External links

We link to external resources (DAI 2026, USDA FoodData Central, app maker pages) where useful. We are not responsible for content on linked sites.
